Hokay, life continues to be hectic--these numbers are from this past Tuesday:
- Tuesday's weight: 195.5 lb
- Change since last week: -0.5 lb
- Cumulative weight loss: 138.5 lb
- Average weekly weight change: -1.41 lb
So--right, my busy week included playing a part in a major Winter Solstice festival at my hippy-dippy church; a birthday splurge dinner with a bunch of friends at a local Asian buffet; a last-minute work project that needed to be done last week; plus a sleepless night of stomach distress, probably brought on by some combination of the other two situations, plus random assorted other busynesses and food splurges.
I think I've managed to wind up riding the holiday insanity merry-go-round despite my best efforts. I need to get the hell off of it. I also need to admit that my food plan feels way too sloppy at this point. There's been so many special-occasion splurges recently that, even though the scale indicates that the amount of calories-in vs. calories-out is still copacetic, the bod is reporting unmistakeable signs of being out of balance.
I really need to get back to basics ... and the new year provides a convenient line of demarcation to start the renewal. Not that I'm waiting until then to do so. My past couple of days of meals have been decidedly simpler and leaner.
Heck, I just ate a bowl of brown rice porridge! Spiced up with cinnamon, star anise, ginger, nutmeg, and allspice, sweetened only with a handful of gogi berries and a chunk of Chinese rock candy the size of the tip of my pinky. Very satisfying. Oh yeah, and I actually made time to take a bit of a walk today. Even though my joints are being ouchy because of the cool weather, the walk felt really good.
I do have another round of events and potlucks around Christmas Eve/Day ... plus there will inevitably be some kind of partying around the weekend leading up to New Year's Eve. But I'll be in better shape to face all that having taken this little respite.
